VERRUCAE TREATMENT

The main reasons to seek professional help for verrucae and foot warts are:

Verrucae are caused by a contagious virus that seems to thrive in damp conditions such as swimming pools, showers and bathrooms.

Verrucae often disappear by themselves fairly quickly however they can become troublesome, spread, grow larger and often become painful.

Verrucae can appear in individuals of all ages but seem to be more common in children. They do not always cause problems so verrucae treatment is not always necessary.

  • Pain

  • Spreading in numbers

  • Restriction of activities due to the verrucae

  • Appearance

  • Increases in size of verrucae

  • To get an accurate diagnosis, what you suspect may be a verrucae could be another problem such as a corn.

  • If you are experiencing problems with verrucae or simply want to confirm diagnosis of suspected verrucae you are recommended to book in for the following assessment with our HCPC registered podiatrists:

  • Initial Verrucae Assessment and Treatment

  • Common treatments for verrucae:

  • The type of treatment deemed most appropriate can depend on the number, size and location of the verrucae, age of the patient and the levels of pain caused by the verrucae.

  • Filing the verrucae

  • Over-the- counter paints or acids
